I was astonished to find out how many details were involved in taking care of clients after a colleague died.
It is hard to know all those details when you start thinking about creating a professional will for your practice. AND, it is overwhelming!
This Workshop is based on my own experience in taking care of clients and records after my friend and colleague was gone, as well as the many experiences shared by colleagues who have attended my in-person Professional Will Workshops.
After you take this online workshop, you’ll know details you wouldn't have thought of, and be able to document the decisions to care for your own clients.
If any of those images capture how it feels to you when you think about doing a professional will, I can change that!
I walk you through the details and the decisions in an easy way — through a series of short videos that allow you to take time to think and decide before moving to the next one. They are done this way on purpose. It helps you feel less overwhelmed and there's a sense of accomplishment after each decision you make.
You’ll feel confident that you haven’t forgotten anything, and proud to know that you’ve cared for your clients to the best of your ability.
If you haven't known where to start up until now, this workshop takes care of that, too. You just start watching the videos! I've organized them in a way that has resonated well with the colleagues that have attended the in-person workshops.
This workshop doesn't focus on the WHAT or WHY about professional wills. That information is included but the focus of this workshop is getting your professional will DONE in the quickest and easiest way possible.
You may have been feeling like some huge block is keeping you from getting this done or even feeling like a bad therapist for not having one yet. Not only do I walk you through the decisions and details you need to know, I also address some common reasons that some of us procrastinate, avoid, or give up on creating this document.
Instead of feeling overwhelmed, or held back...it will be easier than you imagined to get this DONE.
I can help you feel a sense of relief, knowing that your clients are taken care of if you aren’t able to be there for them any longer.
You’ll have peace of mind knowing that your family, friends and colleagues won’t have to scramble to cover your practice while also dealing with their own grief.
In fact, your professional will has a clear plan for exactly what happens if you pass, and that is all you can do to make that as easy as it can be.
This document is also a contingency plan in case you have a family emergency, get sick, or are unavailable for any reason and you need a colleague to help.

How I Became an Accidental Expert on Professional Wills
In 2017, one of my close colleagues died unexpectedly. He was a conscientious person, an excellent clinician, and he cared deeply for his clients.
And like so many of us, that deep caring for his clients meant that he prioritized their immediate needs over the long term need for a professional will. Here’s what happened:
HIS FAMILY
They cared about his clients and received calls and texts from so many of them. All while dealing with their own grief.
HIS INTENTIONS
No one knew what his intentions were for his records, for referring clients, or what to do about his business.
CHAOS
Many of us found out on social media, and there was a flurry of texts and phone calls to his family from colleagues, and clients, too.
UNCERTAINTY
We didn’t know where anything was and felt a huge sense of urgency to notify clients, especially those who had sessions coming up in the days after he died.
I know he would have wanted it to be easier for all of us, and I know you want the same thing for the people you care about.
You want your family to be able to grieve without worrying about your clients or business. And, if the unexpected happens, these services will help you make it as easy as possible for your colleagues, your friends, and your family.
You can get there with these services.
